First Heroes Webisode Right Here, Right Now

And because it's the first one, right here on the homepage (for a limited time only).

If it posts in a larger screen format, say on Hulu, later in the week, I'll replace this widget, which is branded to tell you, no doubt, that Heroes Volume Three: Villians, premieres this Fall on NBC.

Well, if it isn't, it should be.

I so prefer the branded player to the pre-roll ad. The creator of the clip can add a link to the player and it can go to whatever target it wants.

I turn off the sound on pre-roll ads. Sure it's more trouble than it's worth, probably, but I'm an ornery cuss.

A bit of pressure to perform on these people this year, especially after what everyone has admitted was a serious sophomore misfire.

Heroes Webseries Going Postal Begins July 14, Watch the Preview

Heroes_logo

Okay, watch the preview after the jump. There, I said it. For you newer people, it has to be after the jump because your host has a horribly garrish design sense and loves putting widgets in either of the columns to the right and left, and in fact I make my own widgets sometimes just because I like stuff.

(Like the Frangela widget in the right hand column. You should listen to them on the radio -- you can stream them on your computer from anywhere -- they're a riot. And yes, this was a blatant plug, but just because I love 'em.)

Back to this, though, after you watch the preview after the jump, click the "LINK" link above the clip and visit the page at NBC.com if only to read the most transparently planted comments under the clip.

Like ...

This is the best show on tv.I never miss it. This Postal Hero is a really cool idea and the actor looks the part..Totally POSTAL! I want to see this Hero on my TV!

And ...

His name is Kiko Ellsworth he was also in Bad Boys II. He is Great! Check out his website.

Note to the interns at Kiko Ellsworth's manager's office: Stop this, it looks tawdry.

And if if wasn't the interns, my apologies. Kiko's mom, don't do this, it looks tawdry.

And if it wasn't you, step away from the laptop, Kiko, and order another latte (nonfat no whip probably, considering the abs you're displaying in the pic at your website).

Just wait a moment or two and someone will come across the clip and spread it around. You don't need much more than SG at 360i and the relationships he's created with the various and sundry people like me (yeah, as if there are people like me) all across the web, which by the way is world wide, hence the whole world wide web thing, or www. if you will.

And look, I even linked to your Kiko's website (twice!) Kiko's manager's interns or Kiko's mom or Kiko, so it all worked out, I guess.

Heroes' Milo Ventimiglia: "The New Season's Gonna Melt Your Head"

Heroes_s3_logo

Oh, the young (Milo's 31 this July, huh?), they sometimes forget not to play the game of diminished expectations, which after last season might just be a good idea.

Video from Access Hollywood from the red carpet at the NBC-Uni Upfront-type-but-not-quite event in New York. Sit through the Masi stuff at the beginning which is him just obviously pitching the show like he did the same thing 800 times that day (it's the tone, Masi, the tone!).

Milo's always worth at least a glance, and then Adrian, who tells us he returns and isn't dead, gives you some meat, followed by Quinto, Hayden (suitably distanced from that older guy she dates,

as usual -- even in this clip) and Jack Coleman.

(By the way, no one so far has offered to send me to the Edinburgh TV Fest to see Tim Kring and Russell Davies. What's up with that?)

And, I have news from HeroesTheSeries.com that Bruce Boxleitner will be added to the cast in a role that was originally based on John McCain, but has now been changed, I'm guessing because McCain is the presumptive Republican nominee.

And, they're gonna have some web content starting in July, but I gotta tell you right now that they better step it up and use some actual cast members (not one's that just exist online) and there better be something to it -- meaning no standalone worlds that don't impact the story we see on TV, or I'm not gonna waste my time.

And this season, please, no bombs and no viruses. I'm so sick of bombs and viruses.

Clip after the jump.

Watch! -- New Heroes Season Three Promo for 3-Hour Premiere Event

What more can I say? Well, I can't say too much more because I don't know much more.

I have decided to be hopeful that this reboot of the series will be a great one. Don't forget to check producer Greg Beeman's blog the moment this episode ends.

And, maybe, even Grunny and Masi will get in on the blogging action this year, though the links provided will show you they've been a bit too busy in previous seasons to do so.

What's Joe Been Doing?

Bsg_kara_mom

Sleeping, as much as possible and watching a lot, I mean a lot, of TV. No, that's not me with Kara Thrace, that's her mom. I was so thrilled when she finally shows up and it's Dorothy Lyman, who's birthday was last April 18 -- Have a happy honey! Love her. Haven't seen Dorothy since one day years ago at the French Market Place in WeHo. I used to know the guy who handled her horses.

Kara's mom was a ... See You Next Tuesday, if you know what I mean. No wonder Kara is so effed up.

Anyhow, I'm starting to feel much more chipper than when I woke up a couple days ago. Still I have some errands and shopping to catch up on so I'm spending some of the day out of the house, and then if you come back later or tomorrow morning, you can read all about the hours and hours of television I've been watching.

I'm almost finished with BSG season three and I have all the current season DVR'd and ready to watch in sequence. Right now I'm about 15 minutes into the second chapter of the episode Crossroads, Laura has just announced that her cancer has returned and everyone is mourning the loss of craziest chick in the universe Kara Thrace.

Just in time, as the fourth and final season of The 4400 has come out on DVD and I have to hear what Ira Behr is gonna say in the commentaries about the cancelation of the show and most of all the failure of NBC-Uni to promote the USA Network show (though produced by CBS Paramount) once they got their hands on Heroes, which was remarkably similar in concept at the outset (and kind of still is).

Okay, gotta get out and about, but I'll be back later,

Is it Telling That Ben Silverman's Initials are BS?

Gladiators_militia_alex_castroVery telling, imho. Oh, shit, there goes my job at NBC. Oh well, the Gladiators are gonna have to oil up without me this season.

(Just kidding, but that's a job that NBC should put on its auction site. I betcha they'd make a lot of money selling the opportunity to oil up the former Colt model that appears on the show [pictured]. Gladiators comes back at the end of the month, btw.)

Anyhow, our online pal Daisy Whitney from TV Week covered Ben's keynote interview at the TV Week Upfront Summit in NYC.

Here's some of Daisy's piece:

In 15 years, broadcast television will only be useful for high-profile live events like the Super Bowl, awards shows and programs like “American Idol,” Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment, said during a keynote interview at the TelevisionWeek Upfront Summit in New York.

Other shows will have to live on multiple platforms to survive.

“[Broadcast] will also be where we launch our episodic storytelling vehicles, but they will be living and breathing everywhere,” he said.

NBC plans to experiment with driving viewers to the Web from TV with its new fall show “Kath and Kim.” NBC will offer continued scenes online after each episode airs, Mr. Silverman said.

“Around our new offerings there will literally be shows that end on air and the last scene will continue online,” he said.

(snip)

When asked about the reputation he has developed in his short time on the job as an entertainment chief who works closely with marketers, he said that’s due to the new generation of showrunners who are “friends” of advertisers.

That includes Tim Kring and Tina Fey, who head up popular NBC shows “Heroes” and “30 Rock,” respectively, Mr. Silverman said.

“Tina Fey loves American Express. They have been inside '30 Rock,' in the show. They have supported her through the Tribeca Film Festival,” he said. “Tim Kring enjoys his relationships with Nissan. He felt Nissan helped empower the growth of that show.”

My considered comments after the jump. And, btw, they are the same comments that I left after Daisy's piece at TV Week, just so you don't have to read them twice.

Video -- Heroes' Hayden on Sexual Harassment

From FunnyOrDie.com today ...

Yeah, remember that show Heroes that NBC used to run -- UPDATE: Oh, it's still on the air, just no new eps till next year -- well, anyway, here's the lovely Hayden P. with a short lesson about things that you shouldn't say at the office or on set to, apparently, women who look like her.

Women? Okay, she's 18, but just. That's right, Milo, she's 18!!!

Interesting choice for this Judd Apatow comedy clip, dontcha think? The network TV star that more than likely was secretly dating a much older man while she was underage?

Eww.

Clip after the jump, the homepage here's gettin' kind of busy.

BTW, remember Heroes: Origins? Well, forget it, you'll never see a frame of it, it'll never get made and you'll never hear about it again, as far as I can tell.

Kevin Smith said his segment might feature two gay Heroes. I will miss seeing that.

Smittie, send me your outline, I would love to read it.

Variety Has Many Details on Returning Shows

And, because I would end up excerpting the whole article here, I'm just gonna have to click over there for it.

Notably:

  • There will be a negotiation of sorts to see how many eps Bill Lawrence gets to wrap up Scrubs. I think he should get as many as he wants, but I'm not "the decider."
  • Boston Legal should be first drama back in production
  • No more Cane, but the lights are not just out yet for next season
  • Forget about Heroes and 24, as previously rumored

Check there to see if your fave is mentioned.

"Creepy" Heroes Action Figures Get Cover of Toyfare Magazine

Heroes_toys_mag_coverChecking out HeroesTheSeries.com for the latest and I clicked over eventually to Toyfare Magazine #127 and their cover with Claire and Sylar action figures gracing the cover.

They are seriously effed up (click the image for zoom).

C'mon, I'm not one to diss but the company here, Mezco Toys, has done a horrible job with these. And with all the technology that's out there now to make sure the faces are at least close this is just a travesty.

(I've just been reading some comments at the Slashfilm.com post about these. They say that Mezco has done some great work previously, so I guess I will reserve judgment until I see them in person. Certainly this cover does the company no favors.)

If you know Hayden or Zach you gotta send them this post so they can see how bad they came out. I'll tell you this, I would never sign my merchandising rights away without a first right of refusal on the likeness. And yes, I realize my remarks here are strictly academic.

But wait ten minutes and some company will be doing action figures of Andrew Sullivan, Whitney Matheson, Harry Knowles and Jame Hamsher to begin their Blogger Collection. Just wait.

Heroes_magazine_2Also this at HeroesTheSeries.com about second issue of Heroes Magazine, and ...

As you probably have noticed, there’s not a whole lot of Heroes stuff to cover lately. Besides all the personal dating habits of the cast, which we tend to avoid around here because, frankly, I don’t think it’s any of our business who Hayden or Milo or Ali is dating or not dating, the show has been quiet as a mouse thanks in big part to that blasted Writers Strike.

Yeah, not my business. Yet I'm sure we haven't heard the last about the two that are dating each other and the vast and awkward difference in age (18 and 30 is hardly 52 and 64).

I'm sure she has an old soul.

Inside an 18-year-old body.

All I'm saying is that it's a bit ... discomforting, huh?
