Live From the Lakers Game, It's ... Style Network's The Dish?

Kind of live, not really from the Lakers game but very Dish-y reporting from Tony Tripoli. Saffron and aubergine, indeed!

Video -- Hey, The Dish is Back on Style Network

I would like to credit this blog for the show (your host is Danielle Fishel)  coming back, because this was the only place on the web apparently that put together a save-our-show strategy for The Dish.

But I think it was just good decision making for the gang at Style.

Here's a clip, and watch full episodes on Style Saturdays at 10 pm (or, set your DVR for the first airing, which strangely comes at 6 am Sat. mornings.

No, I do not know why. Watch the show, it's a good time. Their website is at this link.

So, What Should You Do In Order to Get More Dish? Funny You Should Ask ...

Dish_danielle_debbie_2

... because I have a plan.

Okay, you've probably just caught on with the show hosted by Danielle Fishel on The Style Network called The Dish. Think of it as a (just slightly) more girly version of The Soup. Take out Joel's sci fi references, add jokes about ludicrous cover lines from magazines with titles like Homeworkers, Crafters & Gluesniffers Annual #3.

(Sorry, can't find a magazines segment clip to refresh my memory, had to make one up.)

Style_salaam_coleman_smithAt the end of yesterday's episode Danielle said it was the end of the season, which is true -- the show was set for that many weeks -- was it 10?). But, they also haven't gotten picked up for another season yet.

Whereas The Soup runs a 48-week a year schedule. Style just doesn't order shows that way. Though I think they should with this show and give it a chance to build as I'm confident it will.

Anyhow, see this very kind and lovely looking woman to the left here? That's Salaam Coleman Smith, president of The Style Network.

You know when fans of shows under threat of being axed send a particular thing to the people in charge to make a statement? I suggest fans of the show send a dish (paper plate, the small dessert sized plate will fit in a #6 catalog envelope) and either handwrite or in some way reproduce the sentiment expressed in this post re keeping the show on the air.

(The links are just for illustration. You probably have these items in your home already.)

You could, for example, copy the image at the bottom of this post to your hard drive, print it, and then affix it to your paper plate -- cost less to send, less of a bother to the network as well.

That envelope should be addressed to Ms. Coleman Smith at The Style Network, E! Networks, 5750 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

I'll do a little photo feature on how I do mine later in the week as a reminder to you to get this done. I know many of you in the demo don't use snail mail anymore but it's still quite effective in campaigns like this.

After the jump, some clips from the show. Image for you to copy, print and affix to your "dish" directly below.

Always say please and thank you.

Fans of Danielle Fishel and The Dish, It's Time to Rally!!!

The_dish_danielle Gang, if you're reading this, it's time to make yourself known.

I have it on medium authority that it's time for fans of The Dish to get working to save the show.

And here's how we're gonna do it ...

Get your friends to watch. If they are from Nielsen families, all the better. And there are repeat airings of Saturday's ep on tonight, tomorrow and Thursday.

Click over to the show's website right now, E! Networks does look at web stats.

Click around, go to the Style Network forums and, I dunno ... profess your undying devotion to pop culture and fashion news, girly style with Danielle.

Snail Mail -- Style Network, c/0 E! Networks, 5750 Wilshire Boulevard,Los Angeles, CA 90036. But make it quick.

Have unlimited minutes? Call them -- (323) 954-2400.

What's a shame is that the show is really hitting its stride in the last couple weeks. Debbie Matenpoulos came on this past week and KILLED with great material. That clip is after the jump.

Danielle_lance I know that there are scads of gay men out there who watch the Style Network, if only to look at Kimora's shoes and order them a half size bigger for themselves, so I want my brothers -- and sisters -- to get up off your asses and get to work.

And that means you too, Lance Bass, you owe your ex a solid. Do I have to post more pictures of the two of you, this time from your really unfortunate hair days?

Well, do I?

Because I will, buddy.

Clip after the jump. Let's get this done.

Around the Horn -- New Links on the Page Edition

Border_cast

First, a blog from Canadian TV writer Denis McGrath called Dead Things on Sticks.

I will tell you this, Peter Griffin would be as disappointed in the name of this blog as he was in the Nutcracker (and because Denis links a lot to this blog, I've dragged out one of my favorite Family Guy clips to illustrate, as well as a clip from the show he's writing which I hope to find on YouTube and include after the jump).

LINK

No dead things on sticks or even sticks with anything on them at all, as you'll see.

Denis is currently working on the CBC series The Border, which features BSG's Grace Park and Sofia Milos from CSI: Miami. But, Americans, do not be fooled by the link that their site that says watch, that's not for you.

Still no word apparently on what US network will air The Border, though I had thought NBC had bought rights. Can't find a mention online. Maybe Denis can help. Denis?

Second, I'm supporting fans of The L Word with a link to this very good L-Word fansite L-Word.com.

Dish_danielle And, after the jump, I have the first 30 seconds of  the season premiere with a big big reveal.

Finally, I'm adding a link to the show site for The Dish on Style, because I'm gonna. Sure, sure, I know I say I won't write or post about stuff where friends of mine work but this is a very longstanding friend who gave me a place to live, twice. So, click over to their show site ... NOW ... and watch The Dish Saturdays on Style.

And a clip from them, too, and it's a Dancing With the Stars and Blush! The Search For the Next Great Makeup Artist clip, the only mention you'll see of those damned shows on this blog today.

Clips after the jump.

Horn. Around it. Us. Tomorrow.

Video -- Style's The Dish on Real Housewife Kim and That Pile o' Hair

Watch The Dish tonight at 10 eastern on Style.

LINK

It looks like the source for all Kim news (and her hair -- it's hers! she paid for it!) is DListed.com, but they certainly don't need a link from me.

Video -- Soup's on Tonight, Let's Dish Tomorrow, Watch Joel in Alaska!

Soup_joel_lou

Joel tonight at 10 on E!

(Also, Danielle tomorrow at 10 on Style, I promise you fun there, too).

Here's some Joel standup from a recent trip to Juneau.

Since he could see Russia from the stage, I nominate Joel to head the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Look Who's Hosting Style Network's Version of The Soup!

It's Danielle Fishel.

Boy_meets_world_cory_topanga Topanga!

Oh, c'mon, you know exactly who I mean, because you watched Boy Meets World on the sly, too.

Actually, I didn't watch it on the sly. I had a cable problem for a while in the late nineties (the problem was I didn't have cable) and I ended up watching two episodes every weekday on a local station here in LA.

To your right, Cory and Topanga. Their love was so pure.

Ahhhhh ...

So, the show is called The Dish, and it's very cute (and sure, it's also like The Soup with a different host, but this host, as opposed to the guy who's doing an imitation of Joel on Reality Binge, does it her own way.

And she's very funny.

And at least E! Networks owns the format.

I have a clip. And, because I want you to see it, I'll put in up front.

LINK

Right? So you'll watch, good.

You can watch it tonight at 11 eastern on the Style Network, which is not long from right now, so I better post this.

Say It Ain't So, Topanga! Danielle Fishel Gets O.C. DUI

Right here in my neighborhood (well, almost, it was Newport Beach), the former Boy Meets World star gets pulled over.

AP:

Fishel was arrested Thursday just before 5 a.m. after officers stopped a car she was in, said Newport Beach Sgt. James Rocker. She was released from jail shortly after her arrest.

Fishel grew up in Yorba Linda and spent more than seven years playing Topanga, the love interest of "Boy Meets World" star Ben Savage.
