Video -- Extras With Daniel Radcliffe, Dame Diana Rigg and a Condom

I'm watching this right now and it's so funny I had to get up and share it with you.

And since most of the errant visitors her on my blog come to look at the Radcliffe Equus photos I thought maybe there might be a built in audience for these two sequences, which kill me.

I watched a lot of The Avengers as a kid. My dad I think might have had a thing for her.

Best Quotes From NY Mag's Vulture Blog -- Mirren, Radcliffe, Chiklis

Helen_mirren You should really be getting the Vulture Blog daily email, like I do. Oh, on second thought, don't, I'll just tell you about it here.

Today?

  • Helen Mirren (to CNN): "I loved coke." What? Yeah, she did. But she gave it up when she realized people like Klaus Barbie were profiting from the cocaine trade.
  • Daniel Radcliffe (to Details Magazine via Just Jared): Our "Harry" wants to play a drag queen, something about wearing a lethal amount of mascara, eye liner and shadow. Is it too soon for a Velvet Goldmine remake?
  • Michael Chiklis (to the NY Times): "I just felt the filth of it," talking about peeling off his The Shield character, Vic Mackey, at the end of the day, with the help of a hot shower.

Okay, frankly I saw the Mirren quote and I have really been wanting to find a reason to post this pap pic of Mirren on vacay in her red two-piece, so I forced it.

But, c'mon, she looks amazing. And, she's evidently keeping her figure without stimulant help, well, at least not any stimulants in white powder form that may fill the bank accounts of former Nazis.

Backstage at the Ol' Bloggerooni -- Radcliffe Scores For Me

Equus_radcliffe_2If you have a blog, you check its stats. It has something to do with the joke, "If Helen Keller falls in a forest, does she make a sound?"

You know what I mean, we all sit here pounding away at the keyboard and then we check to see if anyone is showing up.

This morning? Loads and loads of people showing up.

When I see that, the first thing I do is a Google search for Daniel Radcliffe.

The single most popular post I have ever written at this blog, which gets traffic every day, no matter what (global thermonuclear war, Britney meltdown, the market out of Double Stuffed Oreos, doesn't matter) was about his appearance in Equus in the West End. Because I posted the pics.

And yes, the pic to your left is a new one for this blog. But, it reminded me a little of the famous Herb Ritts photo Fred With Tires, so I said "what the hell."

(BTW, this guy is entirely too young for some of you to be drooling over. Yeah, I know he's got looks and money and a career and just apparently broke up with his girlfriend in January, but c'mon, he's a kid! Still! Can't you all wait a few years?)

Golden Globes Best TV Comedy? Extras . Comedy Actress? Tina Fey!

(Note: I'm actually sitting here waiting for them to say ...)

... Extras!

Well, at least it isn't Ugly Betty, which is not a comedy.

Honestly, though, I think the HFPA gave it to Extras because of the holiday finale that HBO just ran, not so much the second series. The finale was remarkable.

Thing is, the finale for the most part, wasn't really a comedy. Think of the Ashley Jensen arc of the finale and then tell me that the show you saw was a comedy. Sure there were funny bits, but Gervais' and Merchant's script was more an analysis of fame and the shortcomings thereof than a yuckfest.

Still it was fab.

In that second series that this award was supposedly for, this was a great few moments from the Daniel Radcliffe episode.

Yes, that was Dame Diana Rigg picking the condom out of her hair.

Tina Fey as outstanding actress in a comedy? Really? I'm shocked. My choice was Christina Applegate.

Piven was a given, but I prefer Neil Patrick Harris.

Mad Men wins outstanding drama series? WOW! AMC must be thrilled! And, of course, the Lipp sisters.

UPDATE: Now wait a minute, was it Mad Men or Damages? I'll correct later, in the meantime we can all get excited about Jon Hamm winning best actor.

Don't know who the Lipp sisters are? Shame on you.

More Golden Globes stuff later.

I Guess I Should Welcome Daniel Radcliffe Fans

Harry_potter_cast

It seems there's so much international traffic here today looking at the photos I posted back in January about Radcliffe's appearance on the West End stage in Equus.

If you're under 18, I'm going to thank you for your interest here and then I'm going to send you to continue your perusal of Harry Potter news and info by sending you to this link:

http://muggletalk.livejournal.com/

Now, if you're over 18, you have a taste for American TV (with a bit of international flavor) click on the banner up top and you can join in.

Yes, I know, usually most bloggers will take the hit counts wherever they can get them. But despite there not being pictures of naked people here, this place is for a more adult audience.

But either way, thanks for stopping by. If your mom or dad is looking over your shoulder while you're web surfing, tell him or her that you found a responsible adult on the Internet.

Take care, but before you go, you can watch this featurette on the movie that ran here in the US on ABC Family:

Do You Need to Know Every Show That was Submitted for Emmy Consideration?

If you do, click here.

Thanks to the staff at TheEnvelope.com. It interesting to see what the producers of shows and the actors thought were there most notable episodes. For example, HBO's Extras submitted the "Daniel Radcliffe" episode, which indeed was very funny.

Here's Radcliffe's scenes all edited together by someone at YouTube. Not suitable for your kids.

Tina Fey's 30 Rock episode for her performance was "Up All Night." Alec Baldwin chose "Hiatus."

My Local Sports Guy Discusses "Equus" Publicity Photos and Daniel Radcliffe

UPDATE (7-11-07): For some reason, my little ol' blog has been getting over ten times the usual traffic today. My welcome to Daniel Radcliffe fans is at this link.

As they went into commercial, Fred Roggin on KNBC here calls the press photos from the new London production from "Equus" of Daniel Radcliffe (commercial for the play at this link), star of the Harry Potter movies, "bizarre."

I don't know, for a play about a teen who has what one might call a more-than-friendly relationship with a horse, they're not that strange. Take a look:

Equus

Equus4

Here's an interesting fact about your host ... I saw "Equus" on Broadway with Richard Burton and a naked Peter Firth in 10th grade on a school trip. Can you imagine that happening today.

I thank my lucky stars that I got an education long before everything became bad and evil and there was no distinction made between a piece of theatre and a copy of Mandate Magazine.
