You Know What, I Like Cedric the Entertainer

Cedric_the_entertainer First off because he is every overweight man's dance idol. He makes it look much better than we can when we attempt to shift our body weight from one foot to the other and call it dancing. And, he can sing, and I'm always up for a guy who can do a bunch of stuff.

So, I'm cautiously optimistic about this deal his gotten for an ABC family sitcom pilot.

From Nellie Andreeva at the Reporter:

The comedian will play a man who has always been the proud breadwinner for his family and has difficulty adjusting when his wife's hobby turns into a multimillion-dollar enterprise.

What I like about the premise is that it obviously calls for a strong female cast as the wife, not someone like Courtney Thorne-Smith (you know how I feel about her).

So, strong woman of color in the lead? I say, if she has the comedy chops, Siena Goines, who played Jericho's Mystery Woman Sarah Mason on a few eps this past year. She's pretty but not in a very obvious way, and I watc hed her character convincingly break a man's neck on that show. That's strong.

Feel free to suggest other possibilities in the comments section.

ABC renews Jim, But You Gotta Wonder Why

According_to_jim_castVariety:

"Jim" averaged just a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49, placing it on the bubble at the end of this past season. But although the show didn't wind up on the fall skeds, ABC execs stressed that it hadn't been canceled. "Jim" now reps the only multicam laffer in ABC's primetime stable.

Eighteen episodes more? Really? Hey, maybe Courtney Thorne-Smith will finally learn how to act in these (hopefully) final 18 episodes! If that happens, it was worth it. If it doesn't you know she'll just show up somewhere else with a new haircut and promises that she will act. But remember, they are only promises.
