Sarah Marshall Co-Star Russell Brand Gets a US Talk Show
How? I really don't know.
Here, read this Sunday Mirror story from London:
He was snapped up by bosses of UK-based Box TV after appearing on David Letterman's talk show while promoting his new movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
The comic-turned-movie star - who has his own BBC2 radio show and last year quit presenting E4's Big Brother's Big Mouth - has now been signed up to a top American TV channel.
An insider said: "Russell has given some brilliant US interviews and TV execs have gone crazy for him. They were particularly impressed with his performance on the David Letterman show."
However, that US TV network isn't mentioned here or anywhere else I can find.
Now, supposedly it was this appearance on Dave Letterman's show that I've posted after the jump that made the suits jump up and take notice, and sure, he's charming if not very very strange looking, but I don't see where it indicated he can helm a talk show in US. For one, the average talk show audience member is a lot older than the Sarah Marshall movie attendee. I think a lot of people are gonna be asking, "Who the hell is this guy?"
