Sarah Marshall Co-Star Russell Brand Gets a US Talk Show

Russell_Brand

How? I really don't know.

Here, read this Sunday Mirror story from London:

He was snapped up by bosses of UK-based Box TV after appearing on David Letterman's talk show while promoting his new movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

The comic-turned-movie star - who has his own BBC2 radio show and last year quit presenting E4's Big Brother's Big Mouth - has now been signed up to a top American TV channel.

An insider said: "Russell has given some brilliant US interviews and TV execs have gone crazy for him. They were particularly impressed with his performance on the David Letterman show."

However, that US TV network isn't mentioned here or anywhere else I can find.

Now, supposedly it was this appearance on Dave Letterman's show that I've posted after the jump that made the suits jump up and take notice, and sure, he's charming if not very very strange looking, but I don't see where it indicated he can helm a talk show in US. For one, the average talk show audience member is a lot older than the Sarah Marshall movie attendee. I think a lot of people are gonna be asking, "Who the hell is this guy?"

This Paul Rudd Screensaver Has Some Ideas About That Guy At Work You Hate

Apatow_gang

Just click beyond the jump and watch it, and then click over to FunnyOrDie.com to download the new Paul Rudd screensaver (which actually, if it does what the clip does, is really really not suitable for work or you kiddies out there).

Paul did this just for you with his pal Judd Apatow. And I love this pic, it's so cool.

THR.com Video -- ABC's Two New Series, Just Two

Life_on_mars_us_firstlook_2

You can just watch Marc Berman from Mediaweek and James Hibberd from the Reporter talks. They were there, after all.

I'll have comments after the jump.

And yes, either Marc Berman is a giant or James Hibberd would fit in your pocket. I'm not really sure.

UPDATE: Sorry, I had to put the clip after the jump, I'm pretty sure it's the thing that's slowing down the loading of my homepage.

Are You America's Next Top Whore? Wanna Be?

From the not-far-from reality department at FunnyOrDie.com. And somehow, Bobby Lee from Mad TV gets involved, but frankly, unless I averted my eyes without knowing, I didn't see him.

Gotta put the clip after the jump.

"I'm The Reincarnation of a Wolf That's the Reincarnation of Chris Farley ..."

"... and I am a Scientologist."

No, not me, the guy in the video. They probably would block the door if I came anywhere near them.

You'll have to watch.

EW Photo Feature on Kenneth the Page's Music Playlist

Kennethconan

Not Jack McBrayer's but Kenneth's, though I suspect some overlap with the Mariah mention.

Kenneth says of Carey's E=MC2, "The high notes really make my parakeet dance!"

After the jump, Jack's latest FunnyOrDie.com clip (actually, an older Livin' 'Neath The Law clip I never got to post.

And, btw, there are now over 24 members in the Facebook We Wanna See MILF Island group.

(There are exactly 25 26 members.)

Night of Too Many Stars is the One Thing You Should Watch This Weekend

Well, that is it's the one thing you should watch this weekend if you only watch one thing.

Event Organizer (and the human part of Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog) Robert Smigel talks to Entertainment Weekly:

I'm always paranoid about asking people, because they're so incredibly busy. Some are old friends, and I have a sexual history with most of them, but still, this is our fourth annual show, and it's hard to keep asking. I think of things I could offer them for motivation. I know Adam is happy because it's a good cause, and I always let him wear the dog puppet in the shower. For others, it's not that obvious. Like, I don't really know Jonah Hill: He might want to wear a different puppet in the shower. I wish I could offer to have Triumph perform at their favorite fund-raiser, but most fund-raisers aren't like ours. An epilepsy dinner honoring Oliver Sacks somehow isn't the ideal setting for a puppet who closes by violating Ernie from Sesame Street. Fortunately, I'm dealing with very nice people, and they shock me by making it so easy. But it's good for them, too. Like, Jon Stewart's a fantastic guy. But up until now, people have only seen him as a really great guy. He needs this.

After the jump, Triumph and "Ladysmith Black Mambazo" sing about Ashlee Simpson's nose, Star Jones, Delta Burke, Marion Barry and some other people.

Video -- Heroes' Hayden on Sexual Harassment

From FunnyOrDie.com today ...

Yeah, remember that show Heroes that NBC used to run -- UPDATE: Oh, it's still on the air, just no new eps till next year -- well, anyway, here's the lovely Hayden P. with a short lesson about things that you shouldn't say at the office or on set to, apparently, women who look like her.

Women? Okay, she's 18, but just. That's right, Milo, she's 18!!!

Interesting choice for this Judd Apatow comedy clip, dontcha think? The network TV star that more than likely was secretly dating a much older man while she was underage?

Eww.

Clip after the jump, the homepage here's gettin' kind of busy.

BTW, remember Heroes: Origins? Well, forget it, you'll never see a frame of it, it'll never get made and you'll never hear about it again, as far as I can tell.

Kevin Smith said his segment might feature two gay Heroes. I will miss seeing that.

Smittie, send me your outline, I would love to read it.

How About a Reality Show Called God Loves Me Best?

Head_of_the_class_haje_circled

Yeah, how about it? Wanna see it? Click over the jump for the pilot episode of God Loves Me Best.

But first, notice that the Wiccan is Khrystyne Haje, she of the remarkable red hair, who you might remember from a little thing in the 1980s called Head of the Class.

But rather than put just one member of each religion, my idea is to get groups of them together, Survivor-style, send them out into the jungle or ship them out to some island ...

... and never retrieve them.

Less ideologues in my path is a good thing.

See the first episode after the jump.
