You'll remember that just the other day (Jan. 14) I posted about him tweeting a pic of him with handguns right after the Giffords assassination attempt in Arizona. At the time I thought he was holed up in some house in Laurel Canyon. Turns out he was in Phoenix in the center of the 24-hour coverage of the Giffords story and he still thought it was a good idea to tweet this pic above with the text "I'm starting to go crazy in the studio! Step back MOFO!!!"

I know, man enough to play with guns but can't type the word motherfucker into his phone. So dangerous, dangerous enough to beat up on his girlfriend, because you know how manly that makes a guy.

The story he feeds the cops per the reports are awfully sketchy, and now, on his Twitter account he's posting a pic of the Valentine's Day dinner table that he set and photographed sometime before 8 am this morning with a note telling the girlfriend he loves her and implying she return home.

Probably wouldn't have posted this if I hadn't posted about him previously. You know how I like announcing my prescience. It's one of my favorite things.

I haven't used the "Bad Celebrity Behavior" tag on this blog in a long time. Not that there hasn't been a bunch of it, there always is. I just haven't bothered lately.

3 Revelations Re: the #ChelseaHandler #SexTape Explanation (no, her swinging breasts aren't 2 of them)

No, no, no, this is not the blog where you'll read the florid description from RadarOnline.com about her breasts swinging around while being entered from behind by a man sporting a ... huge tool Prince Albert British accent.

Breasts. Ew. Nah, kidding of course, I was breast-fed after all.

If you haven't heard I read it first at HuffPo but it's a Radar Exclusive (though sex + Chelsea = nothing exclusive, apparently) and you can read about it at their site at this link.

Short version: The tape starts with her doing her stand-up act to a home vid camera, then there's a bunch of doggy-style sex in the middle with some alleged Brit with nice forearms (that's all I can tell from the single image from Radar, which you can see here to the left), then more stand-up, then it ends. Her mgmt. team (the Huvanes, same as Jen Aniston, she of the crotch shot late night talk show interview -- check these two links) say she used to send this vid on VHS out to comedy club owners to drum up gigs.

Oh, so that makes it okay? Is the entire world just going fucking crazy?

Since when is it appropriate or a good thing or an explanation for anything that some woman is sending out videos of herself fucking to get work? Add to that Handler's history of bedding Ted Harbert from E! Networks/Comcast (which I contend started after her first E! series was canceled and the second was -- surprise! -- greenlighted, and it gets even creepier.

Next I predict we'll find out how Chelsea paid for a bunch of cab rides in the 1990s when she erred and ended up on an old Taxicab Confessions. Now I get why the bag boy always brings her groceries to the car at Whole Foods. And the line of pizza delivery guys at her front door? Completely understood.

It's her currency, babe!

So, is Jesse James really "a dead man?" He is if he shows at the next B'nai B'rith luncheon, I think.

No, it's not a threat, just riffing on the name of his show on Spike. But when you're seen in the pages of Us Magazine doing this and you've had sex with a woman with Nazi tats all over her and you seem to be posing in her Nazi officer cap, you're about half way there I would say.

I would have to call this the single most ridonkulously bad error in judgment. Ever.

Who Gets Custody Of TLC in Jon & Kate Divorce?

Please let it be Jon. No one needs to see that woman on their TV, especially on cable where you're actually paying for the signal to come into your  home.

The word is that the bitch who has successfully used her uterus as a slot machine and the guy that married her but "has permission to date these days" are announcing their divorce this week on "a very special episode."

Well, how nice for them that they can monetize the failure of their marriage.

Given the sitch, I would prefer a very special episode of Blossom instead. One where Blossom and Joey fight about which one of the reality show couple are should get custody of the show, and Six admits that she's actually the illegitimate daughter of Kate and Blossom and Joey's dad.

I choose Jon for obvious and not so obvious reasons. First off, Kate's just horrible. We can all stipulate to that, can't we? And get this ... I don't even watch the show, I just know this stuff from watching the clip shows that make fun of them.

Second, I figure Jon won't get primary custody since men rarely do. And I don't wanna see one of those kids die of thirst while in Kate's care.

Hey, is there a chance at all that this might spell the absolutely end of this show? That would be so cool. Not that there aren't others who are making a living on TV after playing human log flume with their vaginas, but at least one of these shows would be gone.

David Boreanaz Hints at Stewie Griffin Diva Behavior on Bones Set

As they say, Hot from Fox ...

Stewie Griffin, the youngest member of the FAMILY GUY clan, makes a very unique appearance on BONES Thursday, May 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In “The Critic in the Cabernet” episode, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) decides she wants to have a baby and surprises Booth (David Boreanaz) with a request to father her child. Brennan’s request dredges up a host of unspoken feelings and unresolved issues between the two, and Booth becomes consumed by the prospect of having a child. The stress of the situation, coupled with Booth’s undiagnosed health issue, paves the way for a surprise visit from Stewie. The diabolically clever baby assesses the situation and offers advice in his inimitable style.

After returning from the BONES set, Griffin remarked on the experience of playing his first dramatic role: “Oh, have you seen it? Was I good? Because I heard they said I was amazing and they want me to replace Emily, but that’s just a rumor.”

“The guy was good during the actual scenes, which is the important thing,” Boreanaz commented. “But between takes he literally vanished – nowhere to be seen. I guess it’s true that Brits and cartoons tend to be standoff-ish. Or maybe it was a method thing, I don’t know.”

Chris Matthews Sends His Love to Jen Aniston Via Brian Williams

Chris is, apparently ... uh, smitten. And why not him. Everyone else is (me too).

But I don't have the anchor of the NBC Nightly News acting as my wingman (or is it more a Cyrano moment?) where he'll see her at the Stand Up To Cancer telethons tonight on all the acronymic networks (in other words, not Fox or The CW because it is "The" CW).

This was all actually an excuse to write a post about the telethon. I usually highly recommend you watch stuff, but I'm going to have to demand that you watch this program. It's on ABC, NBC and CBS, once again (in case you didn't get that the first time around) and it's a good self check, a good check of where we are in research, treatment, and you get to see pretty TV, movie and music people, too.

Like Jennifer Aniston (who next appears in the motion picture version of the non-fiction book by comic Greg Behrendt and Sex and The City writer Liz Tuccillo He's Just Not That Into You, a film and book I hope a certain someone sees, and she knows who I mean.

Don Imus, Apparently Wanting to Be Fired, AGAIN!

Barbara Walters No Longer Understands What It Means To "Keep It To Yourself"

What the hell is going on with her? And why is she going to Oprah to talk about her affair with a married US Senator?

Does she think this makes her more relevant? Is she at the point where she is addicted to revealing personal information about herself in public forums? What's the deal?

And, this post at the New York Magazine Daily Intel blog lets us know that it wasn't even much of a secret at the time it was happening. In fact, it got in the way of Walters doing her job on the Today show at one point.

David Hume Kennerly, former White House photog, knew about the affair and used it against Walters in a master stroke of a move during his interview with Walters in the Fall of 1975:

"I waited until she finished the anticipated question and said, 'Well Barbara, I put those stories in the same category as those about you and Senator Ed Brooke, they are rumor and gossip.' The interview took an immediate turn in my favor."

Kennerly added that, the next day, NBC News anchor John Chancellor, Walters's former Today co-host, phoned him at the White House. "I thought he was going to give me a hard time, but instead he said, 'Kennerly, you're a hero at NBC.'"

So, let's see ... Walters wasn't really well liked at NBC and she didn't work out at ABC with Harry Reasoner and ... oh, I get it, people just don't like her.

And certainly Edward Brooke's wife must not have been pleased. And now, Brooke, who btw is still alive, isn't so thrilled that this is back in the news, either.

It's not like people didn't know about this. The only difference between the 1975 revelation and today's Baba Wawa news is that now the world knows. Because she's already shot the Oprah episode. It's all back in the news because she wants it there.

But why?

Why would you wanna tell people all over again that you had an affair with a married man?

Diane Sawyer's Whorehouse Odyssey, Spitzer's Kristen Already a "Girl Gone Wild"

Do you think she'll bring her husband, Mike Nichols? Will they have smart cocktails at the Bunny Ranch while browsing the "gift shop?"

My favorite line from the AP story on the episode is, "(Executive Producer David) Sloan said the special is structured so much of the racier material is confined to the second hour."

I guess that means that the second hour will be much better rated than the first.

Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer's call girl scandal prompted ABC News to give the go-ahead to a two-hour prime-time special on prostitution that includes Diane Sawyer's visit to a legal brothel in Nevada.

The "20/20" special, which airs 9 p.m. EDT Friday, has been in the works for two years.

ABC says that the program was scheduled long before Eliot Spitzer told us all he has spent remarkably large amounts of money on prostitutes. I'm sure it'll be mentioned, however. I don't think they're getting access to "Kristen."

Easy Listening Star Clay Aiken: "I Thought Newsweek Would Be More Reputable"

Oh Mangirl, me thinks thou dost protest too much.

Will you just get over yourself and find a way to be your own authentic self, Mangirl? Even if it means that you won't have all that blue-haired lady money coming in, at least you could look yourself in your makeup mirror and feel like an actually man and not a fraud.

Newsweek recently interviewed (web exclusive, apparently those who pay for Newsweek to come to their homes care nothing for the Aiken?) the Idol loser (hey, he lost, that's a fact) as he joined the cast of Spamalot on Broadway. It was not a comfortable conversation for him:

Extra/Access v. ET/Insider -- Monkeys Throwing Poo At Each Other Over Dr. Phil & Britney

So Dr. Phil is a CBS-Paramount show, as are ET and The Insider, and Extra comes from WB where Access Hollywood is an NBC Production.

So, it doesn't surprise me, and it should surprise you either, that ET/Insider are defending McGraw in his issues with the Spears family and the other shows are taking their shots. I betcha they'll still be doing the same thing tonight.

Now, I can't obviously defend McGraw, because ... well, there's just no defending what he did. But, if I were Access Hollywood, I certainly wouldn't be gettitng Drew Pinsky to point out the issues here. Pinsky has his own problems with his own show.

Already two inhabitants of the upcoming Celebrity Rehab have had issues since the show; Jessica Sierra is gonna need a whole year of additional treatment and Daniel Baldwin missed a court date.

But I love watching the two sets of shows throw poop at each other over their various issues. It always makes me laugh.

You Know How I Said No More Britney Posts 'Cause It Wasn't Funny Anymore?

Well, it's funny again.

I'm sorry. It is, and it's certainly not my fault that it is.

Did you check out this pap that she's dating? He's negotiating deals right under her nose and she doesn't know or she doesn't care or ... well, whatever it is you gotta admire the level of twisted that this girl has become, dontcha?

No life skills. None at all. Couldn't negotiate a four-way stop let alone an adult life and career.

You know, it shows you the value of a guy like Larry Rudolph. He really kept her together for a long time. She can bitch all she wants about the decision to send her to rehab, but when Larry was in charge she had a thriving career and without him all she can do is trample on the brand and spend the cash that's still coming in because of the work Larry Rudolph did.

At the same time, someone who had an interest in her as a human being should have taught her some life skills.

And the Dr. Phil thing? Couldn't put that in a piece of fiction and get it past an editor, they would cut it for being unbelieveable. And there's this from the parents about McGraw today.

Spears family business manager Lou Taylor, who appeared via satellite on NBC's "Today," called the television psychologist's statement "inappropriate" and his effort to get the Spears family on his program "self-serving."

"Here you have Britney, who needs to have some security somewhere that every single thing she does and every single person she has a relationship with doesn't become an opportunity to be exploited," Taylor said. "I mean, when do you ever rest if you're in constant fear of being exploited, of being taken advantage of?"

McGraw (a.k.a. Dr. Phil) had visited the singer in the hospital as she was packing to leave, at the behest of her family members. But even though he wasn't technically her doctor, Taylor said, he should have kept his observations and their conversation confidential. "The family extended an invitation of trust for him to come in as a resource to support them, not to go out and make public statements," she said. "Any statement he made publicly, because he was brought in under this cloak of trust, is inappropriate."

The Spears family decided it would be "detrimental" to appear on Dr. Phil's show, because it would "not be a vector to get Britney help," Taylor said. "Dr. Phil did broach this issue, and I thought that was inappropriate for him to even be self-serving and bring something like that up."

I am trying to be a straight-up (if not straight) guy and not amuse myself at the expense of this girl and her menagerie, but they keep taking it to a new level and I can't handle it.

Make them stop.

Say It Ain't So, Topanga! Danielle Fishel Gets O.C. DUI

Right here in my neighborhood (well, almost, it was Newport Beach), the former Boy Meets World star gets pulled over.

AP:

Fishel was arrested Thursday just before 5 a.m. after officers stopped a car she was in, said Newport Beach Sgt. James Rocker. She was released from jail shortly after her arrest.

Fishel grew up in Yorba Linda and spent more than seven years playing Topanga, the love interest of "Boy Meets World" star Ben Savage.

It's the Other Spears That's Pregnant -- "Hey Y'all, It Was "Con-scent-twul" Y'all!"

You see, those rumors that Britbrit was pregnant weren't completely wrong, they just got the Spears wrong.

C'mon, you saw me write about Jamie dropping F-bombs on papparazzi video, did you think I'd let this pass?

The guy is 19, and I guess there are a lot of girls dating guys three years older, but we know the difference between 16 and 19 is, for all of us who have lived it, is huge.

Of course, I didn't grow up in rural Louisiana like these kids have, but rural Louisiana is a long time ago for this young girl, her sister and their estranged parents.

It's just sad.

Imus Returns to TV (But on a Tiny Little Rural Cable Channel That I Don't Even Get)

I guess this is finally official, although I read about the possibility of this happening when Citadel announced that they were bringing the nappy-headed Imus back to radio.

Listen to this quote from RFD Cable's Patrick Gottsch from the Hollywood Reporter story:

"Don's passion and understanding of rural America fits in so well with our ongoing effort to bridge city and country folks with this channel."

Sure, you're gonna bridge city and country folk with the guy who made the ultimate insensitive comments about a group of African-American scholastic athletes?

And, btw, the only reason I can see that Imus got the guests that he did was for the MSNBC exposure. What happens to his influence now that he's on a rural cable channel 0nly accessible by 30 million people in this country?

Imus was once funny, but that was in the late 70s on an AM station in New York. I've moved on and I think everyone else has as well.

This mention is a bit dated and I don't know if Sajak still has a relationship with Fox News, but you need to know what Regnery Publishing is and does (from About.com):

Oliver Willis quotes the Southern Poverty Law Center

William Regnery II, an heir to the Regnery publishing fortune who's a prime mover and shaker in white nationalism publishing, is moving into a new line of business: match-making for "heterosexual whites of Christian cultural heritage." In an appeal to potential investors titled "Population is Destiny," the famously reclusive Regnery wrote this March that the Caucasian dating service would be no ordinary money-making opportunity, but a chance to ensure "the survival of our race," which "depends upon our people marrying, reproducing and parenting."

Regnery published the book that was the basis for the Swift Boat attacks on John Kerry during the 2004 Presidential race, click over there for more if you're interested.

Idol Outcast Corey Clark Cops Plea Deal in Harrassment Case

Hey, those Idol folks really know how to pick 'em, huh?

AP:

Former "American Idol" contestant Corey Clark pleaded guilty to a felony harassment charge stemming from phone calls he placed to his father-in-law, and prosecutors agreed to a deal allowing him to be placed on probation, court documents show.

In exchange for entering a guilty plea Oct. 2 to one felony charge of aggravated harassment involving domestic violence, Clark had four other charges dismissed, said Roger Nelson, a Yuma County prosecutor.

Just to review, this is stuff that I didn't even know about, has nothing to do with the previous Corey Clark issues.

I think I'd have to think twice before letting my kid audition for American Idol. Sure the upside is great, but look at the kind of people you have to hang out with if you advance is this competition.

I guess if I think about it for a sec it makes sense. Why wouldn't a way to become a star very quickly (get rich quick scheme) attract a less-than-desirable element?

Speaking of which, Mario Vasquez's Arista Records site is still live. Wow, that's a surprise, huh?

Why Kiefer and Others Need to Hire a Permanent Driver

They all have assistants, they all have teams of attorneys. Why not add an on-call driver to their cadres? Because Kiefer may be looking at a year in jail, he was already on probation.

The star of the Fox TV drama "24" was charged with single counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above, said city attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a minimum of four days, Velasquez said.

"We also charged him with a second DUI offense within 10 years, which we believe also violates the terms of his probation," Velasquez added.

Consider how much this is going to cost Sutherland between lost wages and possible additional lost revenue from endorsements, etc. Now think about how happy someone would be to sit around waiting for Kiefer to have to get somewhere by car while collecting, say, $100 K a year. Sounds like it's worth the money, doesn't it?

Bill-O Says He's Being Smeared Over Racial Comments

Which is just what someone who didn't understand how racist he is and how remarkably bigoted his comments were would say.

O'Reilly told The Associated Press that Media Matters had "cherry-picked" remarks out of a broader conversation about racial attitudes. He had told listeners that his grandmother — and many other white Americans — feared blacks because they didn't know any and were swayed by violent images in black culture.

Hey, Bill-O, you're 59 years old. Assuming your grandmother is or was at least 40 years older than you, exactly what violent images in the media are you referring to?

Because she would have been in her prime media consumption years before the golden age of television and I can't think of any violent images in Black culture from that day. In fact, Black culture wouldn't have been available to your grandmother at all.

Can any of you? Or is this just another O'Reilly lie?

Jill Ishkanian's lawsuit, filed Monday, says editors lied to the FBI last year when they claimed she hacked into computers and stole celebrity information and photographs.

Federal agents later raided Ishkanian's home and her business, detained her and confiscated computer equipment and documents. She was never arrested or charged.

"It was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun," he said. "And there wasn't any kind of craziness at all."

Police were called there after a man thought to be a memorabilia dealer reported being robbed by armed men, one of whom he said was OJ Simpson.

Mr Simpson says he and others went to the hotel to recover items belonging to him, but denies any guns were involved.

Police say two guns were confiscated during a raid on a house in the Las Vegas area. At least one other man is in custody.

A police spokesman said Mr Simpson could face charges including robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.

You know, if he would have stopped at the first paragraph I might have believed him, but he had to show his cards. Kanye has a problem with people getting more attention than him. It's not like this is the first time, he's always rattling on about something where he feels slighted.

Talented? I guess he is. The kids seem to like his stuff. He just needs to stick a sock in it. Or, he could learn to stop before he tells people what he's really saying.

Vanessa Hudgens' representative has confirmed that a nude photo circulating on the Internet is indeed the 18-year-old star of Disney Channel's wildly popular "High School Musical" movies.

"This was a photo which was taken privately," said Jill Fritzo, Hudgens' publicist, on Friday. "It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public."

The photo shows the 18-year-old actress standing naked in what appears to be a bathroom, with a red shower curtain behind her.

You know what's unfortunate? That in this media environment, this young woman, who has her own eyes and ears, didn't realize that there was a possibility that someone would get their hands on the picture and splash it all over the 'net.

She can remember her lines, why can't she remember not to keep her clothes on in front of a camera.

Any hit her career takes is her own damned fault. And her team failed her as well. Do we need to corral all these young celeb kids into a classroom to teach them this shit?

I'll give the class, if that's what it will take.

Hey, if it's true I'll eat my hat (the one made of cotton candy, naturally, it's colored with food coloring to look like Donald Trump's hair), but it's so out of left field that it might as well have come from the left field stands, or the parking lot, or the snarl of traffic outside the stadium.

Does this mean Jerry Lewis is homophobic? No. He could be. But it's more about a tired old man (he's 81) allowing some of his Vegas lounge act to slip into a live national TV broadcast. He cut his showbiz teeth during an era when it was just fine to defame gays, blacks, Latinos, Jews, whomever. Them days are gone -- as Lewis well knows -- but sometimes, if the brain isn't operating at maximum efficiency, old habits will intrude.

Sure, no one wants to hear stuff like this. But most of all, the thing that I think gets to me the most is that the concept of an "illiterate fag" is highly unlikely, at least in my experience.

He pleaded guilty, folks. This was kept under wraps for some time. The question is, will he take pointers from Florida State Rep Bob Allen when he discusses his public foray into man-on-man action for the press? It's all a big misunderstanding, you know. Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was arrested in June at a Minnesota airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men's public restroom, according to an arrest report obtained by Roll Call Monday afternoon.

Craig's arrest occurred just after noon on June 11 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. On Aug. 8, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in the Hennepin County District Court. He paid more than $500 in fines and fees, and a 10-day jail sentence was stayed. He also was given one year of probation with the court that began on Aug. 8.

A spokesman for Craig described the incident as a "he said/he said misunderstanding," and said the office would release a fuller statement later Monday afternoon.

After he was arrested, Craig, who is married, was taken to the Airport Police Operations Center to be interviewed about the lewd conduct incident, according to the police report.

At This Rate, Lindsay Lohan Will Have a Show on VH1 by 2009

Yes, folks, the most famous "ginger kid" (now blonde obviously, didn't we all see the pics of her with the ankle thing going into the salon just a few days ago?) in the world was arrested again for DUI and once again had some Peruvian Marching Powder with her.

According to KNBC (on in the background), she was in Santa Monica chasing the mom of her former number two personal assistant (who just quit) through the streets of the beach city and was pulled over in the parking lot of the Civic Auditorium when she was arrested.

And of course, if you have to know more, the place to go is Harvey Levin's TMZ.com (you know that Candy Spelling will be writing an open letter to her any minute now and posting it there, What the Buck?!? viewers know that).

The people at VH1 (or A & E's Intervention for that matter) must be counting the days until they can get her on their air. How about a show called Lindsay Lohan is 22 and Sober? Of course, that only gives her a year to get there.

Vick, 27, and three other men were involved in a dog- fighting operation at a Smithfield, Virginia, home purchased by Vick in 2001, according to the indictment returned yesterday. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia has scheduled a bond hearing for July 26 at 3:30 p.m. New York time. That would be followed by an arraignment at 4 p.m.         

      

The Falcons' first on-field practice under new coach Bobby Petrino is scheduled for 3 p.m.         

      

Vick and other defendants face as much as five years in prison and fines of as much as $250,000 for the interstate- commerce part of the charge, and one year in prison and $100,000 fines on the dog-fighting charge, according to a statement by the U.S. Attorney's office.

Re: Isaiah, Minds of All Kinds Think Alike Today

So I'm driving home from the barber and I'm thinking about Isaiah Washington (as he was also being talked about on the radio) and I thought how it would be very interesting if after this run he does on Bionic Woman, the show NBC developed for him in cast him as a gay, black action hero.

Talk about creating a show that has no chance, huh?

Then I got home and read this on James Hibberd's TV Week TCA blog:

Asked if hiring Washington could be perceived as an affront to the gay community, Smilovic said, “Absolutely not. … We embrace the gay community. … We hope they will embrace the show. … We are in no way making any judgments about what was said. … This is about making great entertainment.”

One critic suggested, since producers are interested in allowing Washington to “make amends,” scripting a gay kiss for his character. Smilovic rejected the idea as “breaking down the third, fourth and fifth wall of television.”

Certainly neither of these circumstances will come to fruition, but casting Washington as a gay action hero would certainly go a long way toward teaching the guy that gay does not mean weak, as he told Larry King his words that day to his Grey's costar Patrick Dempsey meant.

An Open Letter to Janeane Garafolo

Dear Dear Janeane,

I have enjoyed your stand up and your TV appearances for years. I can probably do your entire HBO Comedy Half Hour I've seen it that often. I love the movies Dog Park (directed by Bruce McCulloch) and Sweethearts (a very good movie if you ever get the chance to check it out on cable).

I listened to you on Air America. I love you FFRF.org commercial (especially the end of it). I will see Ratatouille only for you and Patton Oswald.

That's why it's so hard to scold you.

Lady, when you go on Conan's show, wash your hair! I wouldn't show up at your house with dirty greasy hair and you shouldn't show up at my house that way. Take a shower, wash your hair, I don't care what you do to it as long as it's clean. I don't care what you wear. I don't care that you want to show the world your "ink" as you promote a kids movie, I'm sure it helps with the street cred issue. But you gotta look clean.

I would shower for you! It's the least you can do.

And I'm sure Conan would appreciate it, too.

Why Ted Harbert's Wrong About The Simple Life

He told James Hibberd at TV Week that he thought the publicity surrounding Paris' trip to the pokey would help the show but it hasn't and the numbers show it and another year is in doubt (and I know I'm rambling but it's 11 pm and I wanna finish this).

Ratings are down because the show is overcast, overstaged and what that makes it is an improv comedy without any improv comedians. Think about watching that show, it sucks, right?

C'mon, the second that kid took off his shirt I knew he was cast. And Susan Powter, after all these years, and not just fat people like I'm fat but really fat people and no diet professional in their right mind would recommend colonics for those people in the middle of nowhere outdoors done by what passes for a socialite these days (that's right, I said it).

So, please, don't renew, I certainly don't wanna see these girls anymore than I have to, but don't blame Paris' vacation in Lynwood.

Newsweek Web Exclusive on Isaiah v. Grey's -- He says, "There Is No Rehab For Homophobia"

Well, I said as much in this post in January, didn't I?

For those of you interested in where Washington actually went ...

"There is no rehab for homophobia—that was just some crap being put out by the network," he says. " I went into an executive counseling program which many people in this industry know about and go to. They knew what the program was but chose to call it what they wanted to fit their agenda. And more importantly, I volunteered for it because I wanted to understand my fight with Patrick and how it got out of hand like that. I wanted to know what I could do to avoid it happening again." ABC declined to comment.

What Washington didn't learn in that counseling program, evidently, was when to shut up and take the NBC deal. Not his fault, though, as this is a guy who probably had to hear the exact words said to him over and over again until they sunk in, because it's apparent that he doesn't listen to advice. I'm sure his current publicist, Howard Bragman, is totally frustrated.

He has choices here. He can go on and on about how he's being singled out for whatever reason (I don't buy the race card here, it was played too late in the game) or he can make lemonade by having his agents negotiate a deal for him at the other very interested network and shut up, not because no one wants to hear it (although I suspect some don't) but because it's the best thing for his own career.

Or, you can continue to grant interviews with the press and dig the hole deeper and deeper until he's hosting some sort of game show on a third-tier cable network.

Choice is his.

Oh man, he's really starting to sound like he's coming unglued. That doesn't sound like something that a guy who is negotiating for a talent deal with a network should be saying in the midst of said negotiations. I just don't understand why this guy can't let it go and work on getting a deal with NBC. I said a few days back when he was fired that I felt that he was somewhat justified in being upset with ABC because he had done everything asked of him, but now he seems to be lashing out and just at the wrong time.

A conspiracy to rid the show of Dempsey and Washington? Really? I'm pretty sure that T.R. Knight is smart enough to know that Dempsey IS the show and not going anywhere. This statement makes absolutely no sense to me.

If I'm Ben Silverman at NBC, I gotta be wondering if Washington is worth the trouble, I don't care how much free publicity he comes with.  Networks don't want to take on trouble like this. What are his handlers doing? Handle him before he destroys his entire career!

And on the off chance that the man himself is reading this -- Isaiah, close your mouth, go on vacation, let you agents and managers work a deal and lay low. Don't you wanna work again?

A spokeswoman for his program, Bridget Leininger, said yesterday that no money had been paid for the interview. “Larry King never pays for interviews,” she said.

But Ms. Leininger said she was unsure whether the program was going to use any photos and whether any fee would be paid to Getty Images, a photo agency that had previously made a deal to acquire rights to the first pictures of Ms. Hilton home from jail.

Why is it that I get a feeling that there will be some sort of payment made no matter what people say?

Blowback's a Bitch for Those Seeking Cash for Paris' Story

Now, ABC is passing on the story, too (Variety.com):

Hilton's mother, Kathy Hilton, also called Walters in what appears to be an attempt to diffuse criticism that the family was set to profit from Paris Hilton's prison term.

But an ABC news exec with knowledge of the situation said the network had decided to pass on Paris altogether.

ABC News had initially offered to compensate the Hilton family $100,000 for the use of family photos and videos in conjunction with an interview and use on ABC News programs.

The Hilton family had also demanded that Walters submit questions beforehand, a violation of ABC News policy.

I heard someone on TV ask this question yesterday: "Exactly what is the story here?" And I have to say, I don't know. She drove drunk. She got her license revoked. She continued to drive. She was cited again, but not arrested, and then finally some LAPD officer (or whatever) finally did their job and started the process that ended with her in jail.

Doesn't this happen to thousands of people every year? I betcha it does, and no one cares about them. I don't care what she learned in jail because honestly I don't believe she learned anything. If she did, she wouldn't be trying to sell her story, her coming out party and her versnootch to the highest bidder.

Isaiah Washington to Houston Chronicle: "They Fired the Wrong Guy"

Which apparently means that Washington thinks they should fire, uh, who, exactly?

Houston Chronicle:

The former Dr. Preston Burke on ABC's hit series Grey's Anatomy told the Houston Chronicle that T.R. Knight should have been fired from the show.

Washington said Knight, who plays Dr. George O'Malley, stirred up the notion that the slur was targeted at him and created a negative work environment. Washington also alleged that Knight likely wanted a salary increase and a more substantive role for his character.

Knight, who acknowledged that he was gay after the incident, told Ellen DeGeneres in January that Washington used the slur against him and that "everyone (on the set) heard it."

"That's a lie," Washington said. "I used the word during a disagreement with Patrick. I apologized for that. We shook hands and went back to work."

And, he's considering legal action, is disappointed with what he thought was his work family at Grey's and finally, get this, he says that when he said faggot again during the press after the Emmys it shouldn't count because he was just recapping what happened previously.

Note to Washington: Saying faggot is always not a good idea, as saying the N word is always not a good idea, whether you're recapping or not.

Washington is a Houston native.

Idol Sex Harrassment Case Goes to Arbitration

Why? Because it seems like before you can get hired by any company these days, an employee has to sign away his rights to a jury trial if something happens on the job. You've probably signed away your rights, too. Don't know your status? Just ask your human resources person.

Anyhow, here's the scoop from those news-focused hounds at E! Online:

A California judge has ordered a lawsuit brought by a former Idol employee against to be decided by arbitration in accordance with the contract the man signed with producers of the Fox talent contest.

Magdaleno Olmos, who worked as a assistant production accountant, sued American Idol Productions, Fox, Fremantle Media and season-four contestant Mario Vasquez for wrongful termination in March, alleging he was fired after complaining to executives about Vasquez. In his complaint, Olmos claimed Vasquez made several unwelcome advances in February 2005, including exposing himself in a men's bathroom.

The men's room? Nothing good starts in the men's room.

And what's going on with Vasquez's career? It doesn't look like much. Check out his official site. Besides sucking in the design dept., there's not much to say about it or what it says.

Hasselbeck Tonight on Access Hollywood: Rosie and I "Aren't Friendly"

You know how I feel about this misinformed little girl, so the stuff she says in this AP story about Rosie doesn't really surprise me.

I will tell Ms. Hasselbeck when Rosie and her will be friends again. Catching You Up With Internet Superstar Michael Buckley

Michael is in the midst of some issues with the powers that be at the unnamed video sharing site he uses (it rhymes with ScrewCube), so I'm catching you up with the following two clips; one about Barbara Walters' chat with Paris and a review of the one of two competition shows (along with that dancing show on Fox) that claims they were the biggest hit of last summer, America's Got Talent (which, btw, turns out to be last week's highest-rated national show). Michael also checks in on Kathy Griffin (loves the standup, doesn't love the series).

Every one of the Nielsen top ten for the Southern California DMA were Spanish-language shows, which I bet were all new episodes, but I wouldn't know because they just talk too damned fast for me to really understand what they're saying.

Lindsay, Vanessa, Knife Play ... What's the Deal?

Lost in all the recent news was this whole knife play thing with La Lohan and ET's Vanessa Minillo. Am I the only one who did a "WTF" over all that?

I, of course, referenced Wikipedia to find out more about knife play, and they say:

Knife play itself is quite broad. Such scenes can include anything from slowly and sensually scraping wax off a body or moving a blade along the persons skin without cutting them to role play where the fantasy abductor slices off the (willing) victim's clothing. Knife play can also break the skin, either for light scratches or deep cuts meant to scar.

Sex and sharp objects? Really? I have to believe that there are a decent number of guys out there (I'm raising my hand) who don't like the introduction of sharp objects when, as Joey Tribbiani might say, the "Little General" make an appearance.
