Joss, NPH, Fillion Go Live with Dr. Horrible Tomorrow!

Everything you need is right above in this handy dandy li'l widget from Clearspring, that you could also place on your blog or site or Facebook or MySpace page.

And you wanna do that, as Stewie Griffin says, because ... well, oh, just watch the clip after the jump. Stewie will explain it all to you.

Video -- Guild of Calamitous Intent Blesses the Union of The Monarch & Dr. Girlfriend

Venture_monarch_girlfriend_henchmen And you can still catch the season premiere of The Venture Bros. at the [adult swim] video site, at this link.

I know I'm on the high end of the demo (okay, off the charts) for the audience of this show, but I can't impress upon you how much you're missing if you don't catch on to this.

There's a clip of the episode linked to above after the jump. These guys, Jackson Publick (Christopher McCulloch) and "Doc" Hammer, are ready for the kind of primetime tv I wanna see.

It would be cool to see what they'd do with human actors and a bigger budget.

Clip after the jump.

The Venture Bros. Returns Sunday (Finally!) and Well Worth the Wait

Vb_logo

It's only the most remarkable piece of animated entertainment ever imagined and executed.

A special word from Jackson Publick (from his blog) before you watch:

Don't watch it if you don't want to ruin anything for yourselves...

It should be noted that, while an entertaining group of clips, this piece is by no means a "best of Season 3" reel. Doc only had three and a half completed episodes to cull from at the time he put this together.

Production updates and more about our Comicon experience to come in a later post...

Clip is after the jump, natch. And tune in on June 1 for the season premiere, or watch it online at [adult swim] after that, but you'll enjoy it more on the tube with a beverage in one hand and, well, if you're Al Bundy, your other hand in your pants.

And if you know nothing about this show, get with it, will you? You're missing some remarkable TV. Cartoons for adults are the best.

Seth MacFarlane Wins At Fox's "Let's Make a Deal"

Family_guy_brianOh, excuse me, that's "Let's Make a Mega-Deal" according to the Reporter:

The pact, which could be worth more than $100 million, will keep MacFarlane at 20th TV through 2012. It covers his services on "Guy" and his other two animated series for 20th TV and Fox -- "American Dad!" and the upcoming "Guy" spinoff "The Cleveland Show" -- as well as his TV development, including a multicamera comedy with "Guy" writer Gary Janetti. It also encompasses new-media projects related to MacFarlane's TV series as well as DVD and merchandising revenue from them. ("Guy" alone has grown into a $1 billion franchise with red-hot DVD and merchandise sales.) Additionally, the deal is said to include advances towards MacFarlane's back end, which is expected to increase under the new deal.

"I get a lot of pleasure out of making shows," MacFarlane said. "It's a bonus to be getting paid well for it, and it's a double bonus to be getting paid exorbitantly for it."

Neither side would comment on the size of the deal, with 20th TV chairman Dana Walden noting only that "no one will ever have to offer Seth a handout of any kind."

He will be the highest paid writer-producer in TV, at least until someone else becomes the highest paid writer-producer in TV.

And certainly Seth is worth the money. And more than that, his stuff makes me laugh. Sure, I would rather see a Quagmire spinoff than a Cleveland spinoff, but I betcha I'll enjoy whatever comes out of this deal.

What can I say? I'm in, I'm with the program. I will tune in. And Seth seems like a quality guy. Watch, the second I say something like that they'll be pulling Seth off a Hollywood streetcorner dressed in drag turning tricks.

Can anyone say Lee Tamahori?

Watch some Quagmire after the jump.

My Brand New Theory (With Video) on Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim

Tim_eric

You know, those guys Tim & Eric, the actual humans that show up in the middle of a night of watching subversive cartoons on [adult swim] with their show Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job.

I've previously commented:

I can only assume these guys Tim and Eric are either, a) functioning on a different plane than I am, or b) pleasuring the braintrust at [adult swim] in order to get their shows on the air.

I now have a new theory, and it's after the jump with a clip.

TV's Topher Grace: "Please Remember, Try Not to Be Such a Douchebag"

I think this is a message for the ages, from Robot Chicken.

And, Topher has three films in the pipeline right now and of course was the voice of Donny in the recent Simpsons episode called The DeBarted.

Idol Results Show For the Losers Who Call In and Vote Poorly

Idol_amandaI gotta agree with Michael Slezak from Entertainment Weekly, the voting was ridiculous this week. To get rid of Amanda instead of, well, a lot of the others, is just a joke.

But you know that they were reacting to Amanda and not her performance. They don't like her, these people with the itchy phone fingers. And those are the people, the losers (I'm sorry, that's what they are) who make the calls and actually watch the results show, which is just a commercial whorefest with a guest performance wrapped around it.

This is what I perceive as the split in the American Idol audience, those who call and those who have lives. We who have lives also have better taste, more progressive taste, which you would never know because we don't vote.

(Really? You still vote? In season seven? Why? Don't you know it makes no difference? You are outmanned by the chronically, tragically underinformed masses!)

Carly in the bottom three? That has to rank with the most ill-informed audience votes in the history of the show.

Idol_archuletaAnd I know I didn't watch before the top 12, but I have seen David Archuleta sing twice now, and all I can say that this show isn't a search for the Hispanic Josh Groban, they're looking for a pop star, hopefully one that can sell records, this time around.

As far as I can tell, David Cook has the most potential to sell records. And Carly is the most critic-friendly.

Toy Hunting For Robot Chicken with Hugh Sterbakov and Dan Milano Includes "Slave Leia" Sighting

You didn't think that they made all those action figures themselves, did you? Well, actually, many are, ahem, modified from their original form, sometimes on camera.

And then sometimes those toys are just socked in the nuts. (A new window will open with the classic clip.)

You may recogize Dan Milano, he's the creator of Greg the Bunny.

While I'm at it, here's the link to Hugh Sterbakov and Seth Green's side project, the six-issue comic Freshman.

And, here's Hugh's archive of game reviews.

Video -- Our TV Pal Seth Green Tonight on Reno 911!

Rc_seth_green What's not to like about Seth. He helms the Emmy-winning (for one of his animators, the rockin' Thomas Smith and Sarah Meyer) Robot Chicken on [adult swim], he's the voice of Chris Griffin on Family Guy, he'll do anybody who walks into that men's room in the park off Victory Blvd. in North Hollywood ...

(Nah, I'm just kidding. Really really not true -- as far as I know.)

Tonight he plays with the gang from the Reno Sheriff's Department. Actually, he works with them. Garcia and Jones go undercover at a fast food restaurant under the watchful eye of restaurant manager Seth.

Stuff happens.

You can see a clip and bonus Robot Chicken clip after the jump. The RC clip is one of my favorites.
