I gotta agree with Michael Slezak from Entertainment Weekly, the voting was ridiculous this week. To get rid of Amanda instead of, well, a lot of the others, is just a joke.
But you know that they were reacting to Amanda and not her performance. They don't like her, these people with the itchy phone fingers. And those are the people, the losers (I'm sorry, that's what they are) who make the calls and actually watch the results show, which is just a commercial whorefest with a guest performance wrapped around it.
This is what I perceive as the split in the American Idol audience, those who call and those who have lives. We who have lives also have better taste, more progressive taste, which you would never know because we don't vote.
(Really? You still vote? In season seven? Why? Don't you know it makes no difference? You are outmanned by the chronically, tragically underinformed masses!)
Carly in the bottom three? That has to rank with the most ill-informed audience votes in the history of the show.
And I know I didn't watch before the top 12, but I have seen David Archuleta sing twice now, and all I can say that this show isn't a search for the Hispanic Josh Groban, they're looking for a pop star, hopefully one that can sell records, this time around.
As far as I can tell, David Cook has the most potential to sell records. And Carly is the most critic-friendly.
