Anyone Know the Song In the BMW X6 "Fuel Economy" Ad?

It's not the made of clay ad, it's the other one, the one that has that somewhat haunting electronic music ballady kind of music? It's running during Countdown?

Anyone?

I would grab the commercial and throw it up on YouTube so you could hear it, but I'm not good like that. I can't figure out how it's done.

Note to You About New Functionality Here at The Blog & Updated Comic-Con Plans

Cylonportrait Just a short note ... I've been using the "alt" fields more lately on web links, noting if they're set to open in a new window or what they link to, etc.

See, like this link to the show site for The Middleman, which is on ABC Family tonight at 10 and of course also on their HD channel, which just showed up in my channel lineup, thank you Time Warner (though I don't really need CNN in high def).

If you hover over the links, you can see it, at least you can in Firefox 3.0, which Mr. Gupta the Cylon will be happy to know I'm using more and more these days.

And other than that, I got this, I'm gonna squeeze my ass into the front seat of my Ford Ranger and get it to the Thursday session at Comic-Con.

Yeah, John Barrowman and RTD did it for me. C'mon, do you think I'm gonna miss that? Not a fuckin' chance.

And, it saves me from having to run up to Sunset to see Barrowman the night before at his book signing, though I might show up anyway.

Who_fob_watch

I am in the process of begging the BBC press office for some time with one or both, and you know I'll share it all with you folks if I get it. I will be your eyes and ears.

Also, I'll be able to get that damned fob watch from The Family of Blood.

My Electricity Is Getting Turned Off in Moments

No, don't send donations, it's a planned outtage for some recircuiting.

I don't really know if recircuiting is an actual word. I don't do electrical, as I'm color blind and it's a color intensive business. All those wires.

I do know I'll be offline most of the day.

I might drag myself to a movie. Later!

Note to You, I'm Taking a Play Day

90210_peach_pit

I'm going out to play.

Actually, driving to LA and having lunch with my friends Shawn at the place that they used as The Peach Pit for the pilot of the new 90210.

I'm bringing my camera.

Marc Malkin at E! (not related at all or married to Michelle Malkin that bitch) wrote about the place for E!. Here's his piece at this link.

And the pic above is from the E! website.

Shameless Fraternal Blog Post Promotion! My Brother at Daily Kos on Polar Ice Cover

Dr. Bill, my brother, a doctor of meteorology btw, has a new Daily Kos post up about the North Pole.

An excerpt:

Last summer's melt season was extraordinary, but not only directly because of AGW (anrthopogenic global warming -JB).  There was an unusual large-scale atmospheric pattern that resulted in unusually warm and SUNNY weather, with a preponderance of southerly winds , over much of the Eastern Hemisphere half of the Arctic Ocean, resulting in temperatures as much as 13°F above normal in northern Siberia and nearby Alaska, and rapid ice melt. (NOTE:  Whether AGW was responsible for the unusual climate patterns observed over the Arctic last summer or not, is not known.)

What we do know is that ice melt and increases in Arctic Ocean open water amplifies AGW, as the albedo (the ability of a surface to reflect solar radiation back toward space) of open ocean (6-12%) (and of melting ice (15-50%) for that matter) is considerably lower than that of sea ice (50-70%) or snow-covered sea ice (80-90%). So because of these reduced albedos, ice melt begets open water begets increased absorption of incoming solar radiation begets more ice melt. The following winter will, because of the increased heat held in the sea water, have delayed sea ice re-formation and likely a reduced sea ice maximum, if there are no short-term climate effects that would result in more favorable sea ice formation. And if weather patterns are such that there is increased direct solar radiation and warmer temperatures resulting from lower than normal cloud cover (as happened in summer 2007) we have a recipe for very rapid decreases in Arctic sea ice.

While Bill ruminates on the planet's future, I'm considering whether Tila Tequila is really bisexual.

Doctor Who Guest Star Michael Brandon as Gen. Sanchez

And by the way, it's not Ricardo Sanchez he's playing, this is fiction, folks.

Anyhow, this guy ...

Who_s4e12_gen_sanchez

... is a graduate of Valley Stream Central High School, and so am I.

And he's on Doctor Who. And that's pretty cool in my book.

His IMDB.com page.

Dear Shonagh,

Danica

I wrote to Danica McKellar. Then I had a cupcake. It was good. Thought you should know. Can't wait to watch you get married.

Signs of Aging and Benefits Thereof in a Down Economy

Torchwood_s1e3_gwen I was somewhere for a long time today alone with a laptop and Torchwood season one (you don't even wanna know ... let it go) and I gotta tell you, I think I might have fallen asleep the first time I wathced Ghost Machine, episode three.

I remembered that Gwen had seen the little boy in the train station and that Owen had seen the woman get attacked under the bridge, and then it was all like watching brand new TV that I never saw before. Ben who? No idea. Tosh's Lego joke (and I love Lego references from adults), like it was the first time.

Of course it's completely possible that I just can't remember. And it was only last Fall, wasn't it?

If this is the beginning of a progression, eventually everything will be new.

It'll save me a ton of cash on new product.

And who are you?

Hey, maybe it's okay Torchwood will only make five eps next year, I'll just watch them three times.

No, it's still not okay. Who can we complain to about that?

Who, Me?

Yeah, you.

I'm out for the day. Back tomorrow.

Plenty here to read. After that, visit some of the link at my blogroll (left column).

And, if you're really itching for something after that, I just got my new copy of Radar Magazine, check you newsstands for yours, Pam Anderson on the cover with a bright red cherry between her lips.

That's innocent enought, huh? No.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Note to relatives who read this, call Sparkle and wish her a happy birthday.

Yes, her name is Sparkle. Her maiden name was White. Yes, Sparkle White. I know.

To her credit, she treated the people who named her that very very well for a lot of years.

So Happy Birthday, Sparkle.
