Checking Up On Aamer Haleem and the VH1 Countdown Show

Saturday morning is the perfect time of the week to check out music videos on VH1 because they don't last long, you don't have to think a lot about them, and watching them is not much of a challenge.

So, I've been checking out the Countdown show and I saw something and then heard something that I liked. The photographer Matthew Rolston directed the Aguilera video for "Candyman," and I love the colors and the styling, very Andrews Sisters, very Alberto Vargas, interesting to watch. And here it is:

The thing I didn't watch (because I was checking out my incoming links (very meta of me) was the song from Robin Thicke. I seem to remember that this is like the third attempt at becoming a pop star for Alan Thicke's son, and it seems to be working this time (maybe it's the shorter hair and trimmed mustache? Nah!), but I don't understand why he has to sing in that falsetto ALL the time.

I remember that the last time he had an album out it was the same deal. But I guess this time he's getting significant airplay with this song, which is an okay song, but for me just slightly annoying to listen to.

Aamer Haleem did a remote from Dylan's Candy Bar in NYC for this ep. Not for nothin', Aamer, but you need to back away from the cupcakes. Not that I'm any less susceptible to the almighty cupcake, Aamer, but I'm not trying to fit in a two shot with a giant chocolate bunny.
