Is it the Year of the Transsexual on TV?
First you got Billy Baldwin's character on Dirty Sexy Money having an affair with a transsexual, and now this, a new series from Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck) with a sex change at the center of it (Hollywood Reporter):
Joseph Fiennes, Blythe Danner and Robert Wagner have been cast in Ryan Murphy's untitled transsexual drama pilot for FX.
The project, formerly known as "4 oz.," centers on a family man named Bob (Fiennes) who decides to get a sex change.
Danner and Wagner will play Bob's parents, Bunny and Scotch. The roles of Bob's wife and kids have yet to be cast.
So, Joseph Fiennes of the perpetual 5:00 shadow is going to play a man getting a sex change? Somewhere down the line, the makeup people are going to have a problem covering up his stubble. Of course, anything else can just be taped into place.
