Bill and Eileen Poehler talked to the Wall Street Journal today about their TV star daughter. Here's five things you probably didn't know.
1) Eileen Poehler and my Mom had something in common, they both taught their kids about sex by reading to them from a pamphlet. I would be you it was the exact same pamphlet.
2) Their favorite character of hers was Hillary Clinton. Least favorite? Amber, the one legged farting girl.
3) Amy and her brother Greg once manipulated all the clocks in the house in order to convince her parents to get up at 3:30 am on a Christmas morning.
4) Amy and a friend whose dad was a cop brought a pair of his handcuff to school with them one day, cuffed themselves to each other and then lost the key.
5) Toward the end of the interview there's this:
Do you think you have influenced her sense of humor?
EILEEN: Bill thinks he's 100-percent responsible.
BILL: I always say she gets it from me, but no one ever admits that.
EILEEN: She would prefer this interview just be me.
BILL: Amy is more nervous about this interview than she is getting up in front of millions of people. She called me and gave me a couple of test questions and I failed them all. So she said, "Dad, please just be boring."
I've have seen some of her movies and I admire her artistry. She can portray her role very well and even if she is a character actress I don't hate her because of her roles. I really admire her as an artist.
