And he has a social conscience too? See above and also click to the Until There's a Cure website, if for no other reason than the hot guy above wants you to.
True Blood continues to be HBO's (and television in general's) most spankworthy show with the addition of this guy, Joe Mangianello, cast this week as Alcide the werewolf.
It's not JUST spankworthy, but it certainly is spankworthy besides being the highest rated and most engaging and compelling HBO series since The Sopranos.
Whaddaya gonna do now, Taylor Lautner? Huh? You're just a punk kid next to this guy. Dude is hot, and he shaves.
Damn, damn, damn ... Alan Ball and his casting execs have great taste.
TV.com's Richard Lawson gets all snarky about it at this link, including, "That name sort of sounds like a cleaning product, doesn't it? "When you can't get the smell of werewolf pee out of your carpet: Alcide."
Yeah, yeah, whatever. Richard, did you see this pic on the right here from the 'net?
Damn!
I can't be said enough.
He's from the Pittsburgh area, he's currently 32 (December 28th birthday) and you've seen him in everything from the Spiderman movies to ER to How I Met Your Mother as Marshall's old law school buddy to One Tree Hill.
He's straight (but who cares, we're just gonna look at him, at my age he could do better, much better, if he were gay), attended Carnegie-Mellon as a drama major ...
(That photo ... DAMN!)
Oh, and you can read more about him in the interview he did with the site Hunk Du Jour, at this link.
More, including some spoilers (beware) and a mini-photo gallery, after the jump.
Oh, and here's his demo reel from ReelAccess.com.
About Alcide Herveaux, from Wikipedia we have this about the character he'll be playing. The series has been reasonably faithful to the Sookie Stackhouse books so this might be a good indicator of what's ahead for him:
The author introduces this character in the third novel, Club Dead when Eric sends Alcide to help Sookie find Bill Compton who has been kidnapped by his "maker" Lorena. Alcide and Sookie seem to have a chemistry from the beginning, but he is emotionally tied to his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Debbie Pelt (a were-lynx). Sookie had "liked him very much." In the fifth novel, Dead as a Doornail, Alcide asks Sookie to be part of the battle for pack leader between his father and Patrick Furnan. Alcide wanted Sookie to use her telepathic abilities because many believed that Patrick Furnan was going to cheat. Even though Patrick is guilty for cheating, he still wins, kills Alcide's father and becomes leader of the Long Tooth pack. Alcide thinks that Sookie had failed him and in his rage and anger of the loss of his father, he blames Sookie.
Here's a hot clip from a One Tree Hill episode for you to enjoy, and here's another where he's naked in the back of Brooke's car.
And here's some more pics.
DAMN!
