It's called Archer, and I had a clip, but FX pulled it back just now so I can't post it. Hibberd still has it live, I'm guessing, he gets back to work tomorrow, so click over here for it.
I've been catching up on the first and only season of Frisky Dingo, the Adult Swim series that's ostensibly about this guy Killface that erects something called the Annihilatrix and plans to push the Earth out of orbit, destroying life as we know it and the millionaire playboy Xander Crews whose as his secret identity, Awesome X, battles to save the world.
Check out a clip from Frisky Dingo, in the absence of anything else, after the jump.
I say ostensibly because the show worked as an outstanding parody of everything from cable news to celebrity culture to global warming to modern relationships. Great stuff from Reed and partner Matt Thompson.
Two season came and went and the production company (70/30 Productions) behind it went belly up in January. Which is a shame. DVD link? Sure. Click below, buy, and help feed my kids.
Okay, so I have no kids. Sue me! Click and buy it anyway.
This new show from Reed has Jon Benjamin starring as Archer, and the supporting cast is stellar -- Judy Greer (secretary), Jessica Walter (Archer's mom), Chris Parnell and Aisha Tyler (girlfriend). Benjamin, of course, has been selling his voice to cartoon characters for years, from Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist (running in the morning on Comedy Central these days) to Family Guy, where he plays Carl, my favorite convenience store guy in all of 'toonland (yes, even more than Apu, sorry Apu).
So, it's ostensibly about the spy game but more than likely about everything and anything from which they can squeeze a laugh.
FX will be pairing the show with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which seems to only get more popular with age. In fact, if the people at FX would do me a solid and send me some DVDs I might even catch up with it ahead of the fifth season premiere.
Adam Reed = Very funny. I will make sure to get back to you with premiere dates and maybe even a clip, someday.
Frisky Dingo Ode to Killface clip after the jump.
