Ben Stein, who it seems you should like but actually you shouldn't because he's the definition of elitist (and not the usual group that you consider, you know ... smart people, though he's not stupid, either) did the most offensive thing on the CBS Sunday Morning, he used his commentary spot in the most self-serving manner.
Today Ben spoke about corporate meetings and retreats and events, and how it's wrong for our nation and its leader to be discouraging these events in companies that the taxpayers now own.
I would provide video, but there's none. Yet. I'm hoping someone posts up on YouTube soon. It's not on the CBS site though most of his other commentaries are.
The thing about his take on this issue is this: Ben makes a living speaking at these corporate events. He's registered with more speakers' bureaus than I've visited Chinese Buffets!
Here's a collection of Ben's corporate speaking links:
And that's just the first page of the Google search.
So, this AM when Ben was whining (and he always whines) about this issue, he was really whining about his bank balance.
Poor poor Ben Stein. And by the way, he can bite me.
Disingenuous prig.
And shame of CBS News for approving his copy without noting the conflict of interest.

I've got nothing to add (at least nothing that won't be profanity laced). So I'll just say thanks for posting this, Joe.
