Barney Stinson: "Someone's Gotta Nail the Receptionist!"

Himym_barney_brit

Will he?

Monday at 8:30 on CBS. And I know I have nothing great to say about this, so I'll just let you more excited-about-this types watch the clip.

Watch! -- New Heroes Season Three Promo for 3-Hour Premiere Event

What more can I say? Well, I can't say too much more because I don't know much more.

I have decided to be hopeful that this reboot of the series will be a great one. Don't forget to check producer Greg Beeman's blog the moment this episode ends.

And, maybe, even Grunny and Masi will get in on the blogging action this year, though the links provided will show you they've been a bit too busy in previous seasons to do so.

What's Joe Been Doing?

Bsg_kara_mom

Sleeping, as much as possible and watching a lot, I mean a lot, of TV. No, that's not me with Kara Thrace, that's her mom. I was so thrilled when she finally shows up and it's Dorothy Lyman, who's birthday was last April 18 -- Have a happy honey! Love her. Haven't seen Dorothy since one day years ago at the French Market Place in WeHo. I used to know the guy who handled her horses.

Kara's mom was a ... See You Next Tuesday, if you know what I mean. No wonder Kara is so effed up.

Anyhow, I'm starting to feel much more chipper than when I woke up a couple days ago. Still I have some errands and shopping to catch up on so I'm spending some of the day out of the house, and then if you come back later or tomorrow morning, you can read all about the hours and hours of television I've been watching.

I'm almost finished with BSG season three and I have all the current season DVR'd and ready to watch in sequence. Right now I'm about 15 minutes into the second chapter of the episode Crossroads, Laura has just announced that her cancer has returned and everyone is mourning the loss of craziest chick in the universe Kara Thrace.

Just in time, as the fourth and final season of The 4400 has come out on DVD and I have to hear what Ira Behr is gonna say in the commentaries about the cancelation of the show and most of all the failure of NBC-Uni to promote the USA Network show (though produced by CBS Paramount) once they got their hands on Heroes, which was remarkably similar in concept at the outset (and kind of still is).

Okay, gotta get out and about, but I'll be back later,

NBC News Video -- Can Mindful Eating Help You Mind Your Eating?

E_devil_donutNot a surprise that emotions can trigger what you're craving. Stress hormones like cortisol can move you to the chips or cake or that giant bucket of lard that you hide in the pantry when company comes over.

Years ago, I stoppped trying to figure out what my food triggers were because they were all over the map: sad, happy, nervous, excited, bored ... you name it I find a reason to sneak a Entenmann's Chocolate Covered Devil's Food donut (pictured left).

(As a Long Island boy, I have a long term relationship with the fine folks at Entenmann's.)

And, that's why this from Brian Williams and the NBC Nightly News last night caught my eye. Not that I think I can be saved at this late date, but there's still hope for the rest of you.

Two clips after the jump, the second a web-only exclusive from our friends at Rockefeller Plaza.

Now, I must lay in a tub of bread pudding and eat my way out. This post must have triggered some stress hormone.

My Letter to General Wesley Clark

Clark_clinton

It goes like this:

Gen. Clark, I was one of the people in So Cal that worked so hard four years ago so that your presence could be felt in the Presidential campaign.

And now, it's time for me to ask something of you.

It's time to consolidate power behind our nominee, Sen. Obama.

I'm asking you to take this step this week, before Friday.

Because it's time, simple as that.

Thank you.

You can do the same, just click here and Gen. Clark's contact form will appear in a new window.

Seth MacFarlane Wins At Fox's "Let's Make a Deal"

Family_guy_brianOh, excuse me, that's "Let's Make a Mega-Deal" according to the Reporter:

The pact, which could be worth more than $100 million, will keep MacFarlane at 20th TV through 2012. It covers his services on "Guy" and his other two animated series for 20th TV and Fox -- "American Dad!" and the upcoming "Guy" spinoff "The Cleveland Show" -- as well as his TV development, including a multicamera comedy with "Guy" writer Gary Janetti. It also encompasses new-media projects related to MacFarlane's TV series as well as DVD and merchandising revenue from them. ("Guy" alone has grown into a $1 billion franchise with red-hot DVD and merchandise sales.) Additionally, the deal is said to include advances towards MacFarlane's back end, which is expected to increase under the new deal.

"I get a lot of pleasure out of making shows," MacFarlane said. "It's a bonus to be getting paid well for it, and it's a double bonus to be getting paid exorbitantly for it."

Neither side would comment on the size of the deal, with 20th TV chairman Dana Walden noting only that "no one will ever have to offer Seth a handout of any kind."

He will be the highest paid writer-producer in TV, at least until someone else becomes the highest paid writer-producer in TV.

And certainly Seth is worth the money. And more than that, his stuff makes me laugh. Sure, I would rather see a Quagmire spinoff than a Cleveland spinoff, but I betcha I'll enjoy whatever comes out of this deal.

What can I say? I'm in, I'm with the program. I will tune in. And Seth seems like a quality guy. Watch, the second I say something like that they'll be pulling Seth off a Hollywood streetcorner dressed in drag turning tricks.

Can anyone say Lee Tamahori?

Watch some Quagmire after the jump.

Hollywood Reporter Video --Felicity Huffman Nails It Re: Actors & TV Series

"It's hard for people to see you not as that character because you've been on their TV set for five years, six years, seven years. I don't know if it's a problem, it's just the way it is."

Her plan? Tugboat maintenance! Watch.

Nosebleed Anyone? Will Forte Gets the Biggest Laugh of the Night on How I Met ...

Himym_forte_harris

You should really watch the entire episode, and if you click here a new window will open like the vein in new wingman Randy's nasal cavity when he talks to a pretty girl.

I completely lost it when he said, "Sorry, this happens every time I get an erection." Classic.

But you know, with Scrubs coming back on ABC next season, I can't quite figure out what they have planned for Sarah Chalke's character. And it's really nice to see her play a doctor that isn't all freaky and quirky. I still think it's kind of weird to see an actress play two different doctors (who obviously look alike) on different sitcoms on different networks.

I find it very strange that Marshall and Lily would let on that they knew that Dr. Stella hasn't had sex in five years. That was just weird. Even these two are sharper than that. I realize that it was necessary for some plot advancement and exposition, but it didn't ring true.

Still, the biggest laugh of the night goes to Forte. I would have had a better pic of the scenes with him and Neil, but the pickings were slight.

I do, however, have a clip with the two after the jump. Unfortunately it stops before that great nosebleed joke.
