Watch the First 5:27 of The American Mall Right Here, Right Now!
Because, frankly, it's available. And it airs on Aug 11 on MTV and will air in Canada on MuchMusic.
Barry Garron at the Hollywood Reporter (who, by the way, is not part of the target demo for this program):
In "Mall," Nina Dobrev is Vanessa Hudgens, Rob Mayes is Zac Efron and Autumn Reeser is Ashley Tisdale. True, "Mall" raises the stakes a bit. In this movie, the villainess not only tries to steal the guy, she also wants to crush the heroine's family business.
About star Nina Dobrev (right) from CTV, where she works on those DeGrassi shows (or show, or whatever, I'm certainly not part of that target demo):
Dobrev, 18, is best known to "Degrassi: The Next Generation" fans as single mother Mia Jones.
"Degrassi" airs in the U.S. on "The N," as the channel's most popular program.
Dobrev's fame is now expected to grow by leaps and bounds with her new starring role in "The American Mall," a musical comedy produced by MTV for the small screen.
The film follows Ally (Dobrev), a singer-songwriter who fights to keep her mother's music store from being closed down.
The spunky flick is crammed with uptempo rock performances and star-lit ballads, and will satisfy fans of the wildly popular "High School Musical" franchise.
"It's exciting to be a part of this whole musical boom," says Dobrev.
After the jump, listen to her sing, and more.
