Friends Movie Rumor Control Center Is Right Here
Okay, don't get your knickers in a twist, my pals, I'm all over the rumors and have sent out the appropriate emails to find out what the hell they're talking about.
For the record, I'm not clamoring for a Friends movie. I'm sure the Sex and the City box office numbers and the fact that the actors' projects of late have not been world beaters could make this a reality, but I'm not sure I need to know anything else about these people.
Having said that, "'if they build it, I will come." Well, I'll show up at the theatre, coming may not happen.
New York Magazine's Agenda blog is somewhat skeptical as well. I am even more skeptical given the fact that this started with the Daily Mail in the UK (a Murdoch-Newscorp paper that has been known to spread completely false crap about Doctor Who and other popular shows) and that the story broke the day before Independence Day when sources couldn't be checked as diligently.
The highly anticipated film production of TV series Friends has finally been given the go-ahead, MailOnline has learned.
Cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer will reprise their roles for a big-screen adaptation 'within the next 18 months', according to insiders.
Insiders? Really? Tell me more.
The Sex And The City film, which had series star Sarah Jessica Parker as a producer, is headed for a global box office total of well over $300million.
That number exceeds all pre-release expectations and insiders say US studio Warner Bros is now mining its recent library of TV hits for other projects ready for the movie treatment.
The source told MailOnline: 'Friends is at the top of the list of properties that can do the same level of business Sex And The City did.'
Yeah, that's not really convincing enough.
More after the jump.
Will lovable Ross, Rachel, Joey, Courteney Cox, the girl with the guitar, and the gay guy really be making their way to the multiplex soon, presumably in a movie titled The One That's 105 Minutes Long?
My answer? Doubtful. But you know, as usual, I could be horribly horribly wrong.
But if you wanna watch Friends, just pick up the DVDs or just turn on your TV, eventually it will pop on.
Or, just click that big arrow in the middle of the screen below for a quick clip. Some unagi, maybe?
