NBC News Video -- Can Mindful Eating Help You Mind Your Eating?
Not a surprise that emotions can trigger what you're craving. Stress hormones like cortisol can move you to the chips or cake or that giant bucket of lard that you hide in the pantry when company comes over.
Years ago, I stoppped trying to figure out what my food triggers were because they were all over the map: sad, happy, nervous, excited, bored ... you name it I find a reason to sneak a Entenmann's Chocolate Covered Devil's Food donut (pictured left).
(As a Long Island boy, I have a long term relationship with the fine folks at Entenmann's.)
And, that's why this from Brian Williams and the NBC Nightly News last night caught my eye. Not that I think I can be saved at this late date, but there's still hope for the rest of you.
Two clips after the jump, the second a web-only exclusive from our friends at Rockefeller Plaza.
Now, I must lay in a tub of bread pudding and eat my way out. This post must have triggered some stress hormone.
