Will Arnett -- I Knocked Up My Wife, & The Mighty B! Debuts
No, I'm not quoting him, but can't you just hear him saying it?
Big week for the Poehler-Arnetts, Baby Mama rakes in over $18 Mil at the B.O. to take the top spot for the weekend, The Mighty B! debuts on Nickelodeon, Will signs on to the new Fox animated comedy and now a little one is on the way!
Celebrity magazine People, on Monday, said Poehler is pregnant.
Citing Poehler’s representative Lewis Kay, People said Poehler, 36, and her husband Will Arnett, 37, will become first-time parents this fall.
This past weekend, “Baby Mama” opened No. 1 at U.S. and Canadian box offices, taking in more than $18 million in ticket sales. Poehler is paired with comic writer/actress Tina Fey in the comedy about a woman (Fey) who longs for a baby so she hires a surrogate (Poehler) to have the child.
Troy Patterson from Slate gushes over Amy today, saying:
Her low-class surrogate mom Angie—who, not incidentally, drinks her Dr. Pepper from the same Big Gulp cup that Britney was sippin' on in her divorce lawyer's office on SNL—is like a truant at the academy of Dr. Henry Higgins. I like her truculence (the multiple spit takes that follow when Kate, Tina Fey's infertile career woman, tries to feed her a prenatal vitamin slightly smaller than a hockey puck), and I love her wailing (a scene of Angie cringing against the bathroom wall, more terrified than Janet Leigh, as Kate assaults her with a hand-held shower head, washing out toxic hair dye). You could imagine the very talented Amy Sedaris in the role of Angie, but she would make it something else, an eccentric bit of grotesquery, where Poehler speaks to—and for—everyone's inner child.
