Hung: HBO Greenlights Big Schlong Story For Series
After an exhaustive search for a pic to accompany this post, nothing. But then, I did kind of enjoy the searching and I bookmarked some stuff for, well, for later.
I'm absolutely serious about the headline. After all the months of miscues and cancelations and switching up the front office and getting a new chief, HBO's first series announcement is about a guy with a big dick.
I swear it is. Here, click over to Variety and read it all if you have to or just read the selection below:
"Hung" opens on a man who was once a high school sports legend, but is now plodding along in middle age as a struggling father and high school basketball coach. His luck begins to change, however, when he figures out a way to use his best asset.
But wait a minute, aren't all the size queens now at Showtime? Kidding, RG, CC and the Showtime gang, just kidding.
I am finding this hard to believe as well, but here's some more from the piece (hahaha, I said "piece"):
Dark comedy comes from Colette Burson and "The Riches" creator Dmitry Lipkin, as well as Blueprint Entertainment's Michael Rosenberg. HBO is currently developing the script, which comes with a significant penalty attached.
(snip -- but not that kind of snip, I'm just moving to another spot in the article)
Burson and Lipkin -- not only writing partners, but also a married couple -- created and wrote the dark comedy and will exec produce with Rosenberg.
Project has been in the works for some time, and was originally developed by Burson, Lipkin and Rosenberg at Maverick TV. When Maverick TV shut down earlier this year, Rosenberg -- who had run the shop with Guy Oseary -- brought the project to Blueprint (Daily Variety, March 4).
More than one option
Not attached? A strap-on, hopefully. Can they actually cast a guy who doesn't have to opt for the Dirk Diggler device? Will there be a tape measure at the auditions? Will a grower be as castable as a show-er?
And what about enlargement surgery, will out of work actors be scurrying around Hollywood looking to find a doc to "help them get the audition?"
And are we allowed to ask Lipkin if the story is based on a real life circumstance?
I need details!
