Wow! Melissa George in In Treatment
Have you seen any of this new HBO series In Treatment yet? I checked out the first episode at HBO On Demand last night and all I can say is Wow! Very very intense, personal, intimate (but without the clumsy looking sex from Tell Me You Love Me, their other therapy show).
I've described what happens when I'm watching a show I'm somewhat uncomfortable with, my hand seems to change the channel almost without my consent. I thought this show would be pushing all those buttons (and it might still) but this performance from Melissa George (seen above with Gabriel Byrne) in this first episode of this show is so riveting I didn't even know where the remote was!

Now, the last time I saw Melissa George do anything on screen, she was Ross and Rachel's lesbian nanny on Friends, so this was quite the surprise.
And the story that she starts here in this clip goes into a really dark place, you should really try to catch the whole episode. She is amazing.
Tonight I'm going to check out the first Blair Underwood episode. He plays a Navy pilot returning from Iraq War duty and should be fascinating.
HBO has a lot of content, including edited versions of the episodes at their page for the show, so you can check it out that way even if you don't subscribe to the network.
I would bet, as usual, that those episodes are only viewable for US IP addresses, so be aware of that.
